We are looking for a Data Scientist/AI Engineer to join our technology team to solve exciting business problems in the domain of Healthcare. This is a unique opportunity to apply your skills and have a direct impact on global business. Qualified candidates will need to have a background of AI technologies.
This is a full-time position, working at Astana office in Kazakhstan. No remote work for this position. You will be working full time for the Ryte team under the supervision of the AI Manager.
This is a permanent employment contract.
The Role:
As a Data Scientist, you'll work on challenging data science and AI projects covering different AI models such as but not limited to linear amp; logistic regression, Decision trees, Naive Bayes, K-Nearest Neighbors, learning vector quantization, Support vector machines, random forest, Deep neural networks etc. You will work in a team of AI engineers to develop innovative AI solutions and work with data scientists, data engineers, managers and doctors to build a set of international healthcare systems and curated data repositories.
Responsibilities:
- Work in multi-disciplinary and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into artificial intelligence goals and solution architecture.
- Proactively propose, defend and own ML solutions for given business objective.
- Research, and develop novel AI solutions independently and as part of a team
- Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and accuracy
- Ensure scalability and future maintenance of the designed ML models
- Maintain, support and improve existing models in production.
- Measure risks associated with ML model deployment and maintenance
- Regularly revisit the ML solutions and perform code refactoring for performance and readability improvements
- Collaborate with ML operations (MLOps), data engineers, and IT to deliver end-to-end ML pipelines and solutions.
- Ensure correct execution of A/B tests on production systems
- Continuously monitor execution and health of production ML models
- Interpret ML model for non-ML audience
- Report on status of development, quality, operations, and system performance to leadership
- Write and maintain technical documentation for designed solutions.
Requirements
- Proficiency in machine learning algorithms such as multi-class classifications, decision trees, support vector machines and deep learning
- Strong understanding of probability and statistical models (generative and descriptive models), Advanced programming skills with C/C++, Python, Java or R
- Ability to run experiments scientifically and analyze results
- Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts and results to technical and business audiences in a comprehensive manner
- Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams and stakeholders, including analytics teams, development teams, product management and operations,
- More than five years of experience in developing and deploying enterprise-scale machine learning solutions
- Demonstrated abilities to manage, motivate and coach a team of AI engineers.
- Fluent in English

Education and Training
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, data science, operations research, statistics, applied mathematics, or a related quantitative field [or equivalent work experience such as, economics, engineering and physics] is [preferred/required]. Alternate experience and education in equivalent areas such as economics, engineering or physics, is acceptable. Experience in more than one area is strongly preferred.
