The Position: Release Manager
This is a full-time position, working at the technology development office in Astana, Kazakhstan. No remote work for this position. You will be working full-time for the Ryte team under the supervision of the PMO IT Program Director.
The Role:
As a pioneering role, the Release Manager shall have the overall responsibility for the creation and implementation of Release Management Life Cycle which includes scheduling, coordinating, and deploying new features releases.
Where necessary the incumbent shall provide release tools and services to help project management coordinators and data analytics development teams manage and deploy releases into production.
Responsibilities:
- Directly oversee and control the product release processes throughout the Data Analytics Development Life Cycle (DALC).
- Work with clients, business executives, and data analytics development teams in defining and detailing new features and product releases based on client requirements.
- Develop release management plan containing timelines, delivery dates, user requirements, and the overall scope of the product version release.
- Define performance test and user acceptance test criteria at the start of every release, with agreement from the development team and stakeholders (if necessary).
- Validate test data and results against objectives and targets in the release management plan.
- Authorize the release of the product in live production environment once all requirements are tested and validated.
- Work with developers to improve the release management methodologies, processes and practices associated with continuously building, testing, deploying, and updating new features in development and live production.
- Assist the project coordinator and data analytics developers in managing and monitoring projects and interdependencies to ensure product release deliverables and milestones objectives are adhered to, and to ensure the integrity of each release.
- Manage client expectations with respect to change, release, and configuration management activities.
- Regularly update executives and key stakeholders on the status of product releases.
- Escalate to PMO IT Director all operational issues that affect product delivery.
- Promote team collaboration, personal excellence and effectiveness, and model such behaviors himself/herself.
- Maintain a safe environment for people to think and act creatively in order to contribute value to the business and clients.
- Authorize the release of the product in a live production environment once all requirements are met.
- Drive the development of contingency plans with the PMO officers and DA development teams when obstacles to meeting product release objectives arise.
- Facilitate team problem solving events related to solving product release and project issues, including root cause analysis and formulation of solutions and controls. In such role, promote the use of structured and disciplined problem- solving tools and techniques using lean and agile principles.
- Ensure all release artifacts are archived in a central document repository.
Requirements
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Business; or related discipline
- 5-10 years solid experience in data analytics development life cycle environment, of which at least 3 years in release management based on ITIL V4 service delivery
- Solid understanding of deploying business strategy down to tactical and operational levels
- Demonstrated experience in product release management
