We are looking for a SecOps Engineer who is passionate about IT security and IT standards compliance including SOC2, ISO, HIPAA, and GDPR. In this role, you will manage our security infrastructure in the cloud and ensure our systems and applications are compliant with international IT standards. This position is based in the Astana office in Kazakhstan. No full remote work is allowed for this role. You will be working full-time for the Ryte team under the supervision of the Ryte team lead.


Position Summary

This is a hands-on IT security and compliance position in a dynamic environment. We are looking for a SecOps Engineer focused on ensuring our cloud environments, primarily in Microsoft Azure, are secure, compliant, and resilient. This role will collaborate with Systems Engineers, Data Engineers, and other project roles in assisting in the architecture, design, and build of the security and compliance layers of our cloud infrastructure.

  • Reports to: You will be working for the Ryte team under the supervision of the Systems Engineering Manager
  • Career: Evolution to a Senior SecOps Engineer, Security Architect roles


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Implement and manage security measures and best practices in Microsoft Azure cloud environments.
  • Monitor, assess, and mitigate potential security threats.
  • Ensure all cloud services and applications comply with ISO, HIPAA, GDPR, and other relevant standards.
  • Deployment, maintenance, and monitoring of security solutions and controls in the cloud.
  • Develop and implement security automation processes using scripts, CI/CD tools, IaC.
  • Lead vulnerability assessment, threat modeling, and penetration testing efforts.
  • Collaborate with developer teams to ensure secure coding practices are implemented and followed.
  • Support internal teams with security training and awareness programs.
  • Review and adjust security policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Estimate costs associated with security solutions and tools in Azure subscription, monitor and analyze those costs.
  • Work closely with internal audit and external partners to demonstrate compliance.

    Job Experience Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in IT security, including cloud security best practices (AWS, Azure, GCP, or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of IT standards such as ISO, HIPAA, and GDPR.
  • Familiarity with cloud security tools and solutions in Microsoft Azure and other platforms.
  • Experience with security automation using IaC tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Experience with CI/CD processes related to security, using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps.
  • Knowledge of encryption, key management, identity and access management, and network security best practices.
  • Experience with risk assessment tools, technologies, and methods.
  • Experience in the Healthcare industry and/or International Startup or Enterprise is an advantage.
    • Programming Skills Requirements:
    • Experience in one or more automation languages (PowerShell, Python, C#, Open Source)
    • Familiarity with other programming languages is a plus
